Heritage House is a new single-family residence in the Southwest Washington countryside. Its gable roof is inspired by minimal gabled houses that define the architectural vernacular in Underdahl, Norway, a small fishing village on a fjord that is the ancestral hometown of the owners. Scandinavian details of the ancient village have been modernized and adapted to the Washington context.
The home celebrates family living that is playful, lived in, and community oriented. It is a place for new memories to be formed and old experiences to be fondly remembered.

This custom home is clad the use of high quality, locally milled clear cedar siding. The eastern wing holds three bedrooms and utility spaces, while the western wing comprises the gathering spaces including an open kitchen and living space, dining area, and an additional family room. Clad in loclally milled cedar siding, Heritage House features oversized sliding doors that open to a vast outdoor space for this multi-generational family to gather and enjoy views of Mt Rainier and beyond. Effortlessly integrated into its natural context, Heritage House embraces the quintessential Pacific Northwest setting the landscape affords.
